Get the hell out of here, January...
...you month of exhaustion and despair, month of giving up after long struggle, cold bleak days of nothing left to go on.
All three of my beloved animals died in January.
On January 24, 2002, my first cat Bunny died of cancer.
On January 9, 2007, the love of my life Tiny died of kidney failure.
On January 26, 2007, my sixteen and a half year old dachshund Callie died.
I feel frozen; how to mourn two at once?
I cannot even write more about her now. Maybe later.

Grandma, Im really sorry for your loss. Please just keep your head up.
I'm not sure how I ended up at your site. We have cat common tho. My oldest cat died a few months ago. My beautiful, photogenic Somali named Mogadishu. Sweet as could be; inbred as could be. He used to trip trying to walk in a cluttered area. (Like my perfumes and hair accessories.) If he got on the kitchen counter and there were dishes about, he would trip and fall into the sink. He never minded being wet and let me give him baths. He didn't know any better. And, every time he snuck out, he came back hurt. One time he managed to do something to his tail. I noticed that he was freezing up when he got in the cat box. I took him to our vet who was very puzzled over it. He must have spent a good hour watching him. Then he decided to shave some of his tail and found that it had some gangrene. Well, he lost his most beautiful tail but survived. This happened on the day of my 25 year high school reunion and I missed it. But, that was ok. Sweet little Dishu. My younger cats, Lucifer and Whiskas never really liked him, nor did Ricky our Jack Russell. I don't know why. But when I came home from burying him, the three of them were lined up at the foot of the bed and stayed close together the whole night. It was weird. And that's the story of Dishu. Lucifer is 15 years and Ricky will be 11 on Valentine's Day. Whiskas is only 8. By the way, I'm 55 and went surfing for the 1st time last summer in Ft. Bragg, CA. I've been a skate boarder most of my life but had to stop after a car accident. AND, it really hurts too much to fall anymore!!! I'm finally getting to work out at 24 Hr Fitness; so when I build up my stamina, I'll skate just the street. But, no more ollies for me. I'm looking forward to going to Maverick's as soon as the waves pick up. (Not to surf) My boss says I can take off whenever they call it.
So, I hope I didn't bore you. I know how you feel by the loss of my first true love cat named Nite Cat. He came to me with a (fake) diamond necklace on and unbeknownst to either of us, feline leukemia. He was truly my familiar. I must stop or this could go on indefinitley. I'm very sorry for your loss. Hey Granma, how're you holding up today? Have you been out in the waves this week, or is it too cold? I've no experience with the east coast water. On our side (west coast) Maverick's hasn't happened yet. We're all waiting, just waiting.
