Nothing going on around here

I'm on a road trip down south, to my adopted home town. There's a beach here but haven't been any waves. And since there are no surf cams/surf reports for this beach, it's a long round trip I've made three times for no waves.

Meanwhile, I hear there are excellent waves at home for the first time in many, many long months. I miss home. I even miss all the wave hogging jerks.

Inspiring.
i just discovered your blog while I was searching for sailing blogs.
the title intrigued me...

Now i have to learn to surf.

i just turned 44. this will officially be my last birthday. If i don't have them I will never get older...it seems logical to me, like...chocolate is a vegetable. Hey It grows on a plant!

Anyway, I grew up in sunny surf crazy southern california, with the tastiest waves and the hottest but arogant dudes.

I wanted very badly to surf. I have a deep connection to the water, and especially ocean. so here I live in Michigan, and have pined away for the past 20 years raising my three sons. Oldest 20.

I didnt' learn to surf because I had many boyfriends who did, and well they wanted to hog all the glory to themselves, and I was always intimidated.

But still I yearn for the warmth of the sun.

So now I am learning to sail small racing type dinghys. Its not surfing but it gets me out on the water... aND i AM rediscovering myself outside the identity of mother, wife, public school teacher.

I think you set an example for not only those of us who are older than twenty five, but younger women as well. AND QUIT CALLING yourself OLD. YOU ARE NOT.

Keep riding the wild surf and providing a reason for all of us to look at ourselves in a different light......A good one, that doesnt show off all the wrinkles and expression lines.
